Day Driving Hanging Out Relaxation Reminiscing. The 101 Greatest Country Hits. Amidst all the hype is a half-effective set of country standards mixed with sneaky remakes masquerading as the original tracks. With all the hoopla in the advertising, one would think that 101 tracks could be crammed into something a bit sleeker than the ten discs that this set encompasses, and if not, at least the original recordings could have been used.

Greatest Country Hits highlights a combination of songs from Tanya Tucker's earliest chart entries in the '70s - "Lizzie and the Rainman," "San Antonio Stroll," and "Texas (When I Die)" - along with those recorded for Liberty in the '80s, "One Love at a Time," "I'll Come Back as Another Woman," and "Love Me Like. You Used T. For the complete rundown of Tanya Tucker's hits, invest in the double-disc set Upper 48 Hits 1972-1997.

Tanya Tucker wasn’t even old enough to get a driver’s license when she recorded Delta Dawn, but she sang it with the confidence of someone twice her age. That gritty vocal timbre, coupled with the possibly-too-mature subject matter of her songs (like Would You Lay With Me ), made the young Seminole, Texas, native a star and an archetype for the tough-talking, rebellious female performers who followed in her wake. She could rock out with ease – check out her cover of Not Fade Away on TNT – but was equally comfortable selling the drama of a good ballad. Later hits like 1992’s potent Seminole Wind – and even parts of his most recent album, 2015’s Goldmine – show Anderson remains a proudly stubborn, beefy-voiced traditionalist.

Tanya Tucker Format: Audio Cassette. First female country singer that really put the power in her music that even the male artist were afraid to do. Though it's not on this album how many had the courage at her time to sing a song like "Would You Lay With Me In A Field Of Stone?" You know what that song is really about? I had them all already, I just wanted this compilation from one album. Besides it was a great price. I'm still replacing a lot of my music library that was on records and cassette.
