Bombay Bicycle Club aren’t Indian – they come from London – and when Jack Steadman, Suren de Saram, Ed Nash and Jamie MacColl joined forces in 2005, it was not to go cycling. The band they formed were indie darlings whose stock rose dramatically with their second album, Flaws. A subtle, folky revelation on release in 2010, it won them many new fans and the Best New Band at that year’s NME Awards. On their latest, fourth album, the chart-topping So Long, See You Tomorrow, they blend playful electronic music with Bollywood samples.

Today marks a decade since our first album was released and before we turn our attention to new music (we promise we’ll have something for you to hear next month), we wanted to take a moment to pay our respects. To celebrate we’re releasing an EP which consists of demos made between 2004 and 2008. Some of these never progressed beyond demo stage and this is the first time they’ve seen the light of day, some of them you’ll be familiar with. We’re also going to play a short run of UK dates this November where we’ll play the album from start to finish. We might throw in a few.
