Tears For Fears - Raoul And The Kings Of Spain mp3 album

Raoul and the Kings of Spain is the fifth studio album by the British pop-rock band Tears for Fears, released on 10 October 1995. Like the band's previous album, Elemental (1993), it is essentially a solo effort by Roland Orzabal-neither album being made with the involvement of Curt Smith, who had left the band at that time. The album, according to Orzabal, has a recurring theme of familial relationships and delves into his own Spanish heritage

When the seventh son of the seventh son Comes along and breaks the chain Raoul, Raoul, Raoul and the kings of Spain Making it plain, making it sane To turn this loss into a gain. Raoul, Raoul, Raoul and the kings of Spain Raoul, Raoul, Raoul and the kings of Spain. Did you know your father was an island Did you know your mother was the sea Can we ever hope to seek asylum From the bounds of fate and family. When the seventh son of the seventh son Comes along and breaks the chain Raoul, Raoul, Raoul and the kings of Spain Making it plain, making it sane To turn this loss into a gain. Orzabal retained the Tears for Fears name as a solo project, releasing the albums Elemental (1993) and Raoul and the Kings of Spain (1995) before he and Smith reunited the group in 2000 and released an album of new material, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, in 2004. Since 2013, the duo have been working on their seventh album Contents. Another factor in the break-up was the band's manager, Paul King, who declared bankruptcy in 1990 and was later convicted of fraud. The duo had signed to King's Outlaw Management Agency in 1982 and remained clients throughout the remainder of the decade (the agency also operated the band's fan club, the Tears For Fears World Service, between 1983 and 1986).

The second Tears for Fears album following Curt Smith's departure finds Roland Orzabal treading water (and self-consciously deep water at that). There's some genuinely pretty, if unexciting, music like the piano-driven ballad "Secrets," with it's soaring guitar line, and the gentle "Sketches of Pain

Raoul and the Kings of Spain is a personal, essentially-solo, album for Roland Orzabal, and he has said he wrote it during a period of difficulty in his relationship with his wife. As such, several songs on the album deal with this topic. Thematically, Sorry is similar to Secrets and Me and My Big Ideas as a mea culpa admission of wrongdoing. Tonally, however, it is less apologetic (despite its title). Here, Orzabal adopts a more exasperated stance in asking for closure, wanting his partner to forgive him already so they can move on from their unhappy episode.
