Joan Armatrading - Back to the Night mp3 album
Joan Armatrading is the third studio album from the British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading and her second for A&M Records. It was her first album to be recorded entirely in London, as her first two albums - Whatever's for Us and Back to the Night being partially recorded in France and Wales respectively in addition to London. Released in 1976, it included Armatrading's sole Top 10 hit single, "Love and Affection".

Sweet smiling rose The night life perfume See the romeos Dancing under the moon light I said the night Night was made for romance You keep your sunny day Just get me back to the night 'Cause I love that life Back to the night Like those skinny burlesque queens I love a neon Love a neon Skyline. Got the card sharks hustling At the break of the moon Gay night walkers Old blues buskers All night long there's just so much to do Just get me back to the night Oh I love that life Back to the night Like a skinny burlesque queen I love a neon Love a neon Love that neon skyline
It was an unusually long time before A&M released a second album from Joan Armatrading, Back to the Night. Produced by Vinegar Joe guitarist Pete Gage (and featuring that band's Steve York on bass), the record is something of a transitional work between the singer/songwriter folk of her first album and the warmer melodies of her breakthrough eponymous effort. While it's not a markedly better record than Whatever's for Us, there are some appreciable differences.
