Various - Appenzeller Klänge - So Chiids Bi Ös Im Appezellerland! 2. Hansruedi Dänzer, Eduard Steiner, Ernst Leuenberger - Im Arvestübli, Record-Klänge.

String music from Appenzell plays an important role in the instrumental practice of the region. The first songs from Appenzell originated in the 13th century, by Heinrich von Sax, Lord of castle Clanx, around 1270. In the 16th century an Appenzeller Kuereien Lobelobe, a type of yodel, was composed. Until the end of the 17th century, common instruments such as the drums, pipes, bagpipes, and shalms were also prevalent in this region.

Look over the shoulder of the master cheese makers In the Appenzeller cheese factory, experience how Appenzeller® cheese is made. With the iPad guided tour, you can discover the cheese factory interactively and at your own pace. The tour takes you through all stages of cheese making to the imposing cheese cellar, where up to 12,500 cheese wheels are constantly tended. Afterwards you will see an interesting film about the Appenzellerland and further details about the Appenzeller® cheese. Natural ingredients from the production area, craftsmanship that is impossible to imitate and the secret herbal brine – this is the recipe for Appenzeller® cheese. Every day 900 farmers look after our cows and ensure that they are fed exclusively with rich grass and in the winter with hay from natural meadows.

The various macerated liquids are now combined to create Appenzeller Alpenbitter, with its typical dark colour and bitter taste. No matter where in the world Appenzeller Alpenbitter is enjoyed, it is produced and bottled in Appenzell before embarking on its journey – the shortest route taking it to the factory shop and the longest to the other side of the world. 4, 4.
