Sepultura - We Are What We Are mp3 album

We want people to know who we are and that we exist. A spokesman for the tribe looked back on the collaboration: "We had seen pictures of Sepultura and we knew that they were different, with their long hair and many tattoos. We also knew that they had been discriminated, like we were. Because of that we were very curious about them.

We decided to do an album that expanded what we started on Chaos . Max Cavalera told me when the record came out. We had already used this unusual percussion with heavy music, and it worked out really well so we thought we could do more with it. That’s why we brought Brazilian musician Carlinhos Brown into the scene. After reaching out to a cultural center of indigenous music Sepultura were able to contact the Xavante Indian tribe, which lives in the remote jungles of Central Brazil. When they first met the tribe’s chief, Cavalera picked up a powerful spiritual vibe. The Xavantes wanted to hear a sample of Sepultura’s music, so the band played them Kaiowas as they had done it for the MTV show in Brazil. When we finished it they started talking to one another and we couldn’t understand anything they were saying, Cavalera said.

Brazilian-bred Sepultura are considered one of the best metal bands. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Sepultura singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums. You can rank all of these albums, from Chaos . 1993) to Roots (1996).

In October 1993, Sepultura released their fifth full-length album. Recorded in Wales with renowned producer Andy Wallace, the album featured collaborations with Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra (Biotech Is Godzilla), Biohazard’s Evan Seinfeld (Slave New World) and a cover version of UK politicos New Model Army’s The Hunt, which hinted at a broadening of the band’s outlook. How are you going to do it?’ Somehow we got around it and the concept grew. I spoke to the Brazilian director of Indian affairs. There are hundreds of tribes and she steered us toward the Xavante tribe, who are more open-minded to white people and to music.
