Jimmy Fortune (born March 11, 1955, in Williamsburg, Virginia) is an American country music singer from Staunton, Virginia. Fortune sang tenor for The Statler Brothers for 21 years, and wrote the song "Elizabeth" for the group. After The Statler Brothers retired, he continues to perform as a solo artist. Fortune grew up in Nelson County, Virginia, where he attended Nelson County High School in Lovingston, Virginia.

Christmas Card is the nineteenth studio album and the first Christmas album by American country music group The Statler Brothers. It was released in 1978 via Mercury Records. The group's first Christmas album, it peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. I Believe in Santa's Cause" (Lew DeWitt, Buddy Church) – 2:50. I'll Be Home for Christmas" (Walter Kent, Kim Gannon, Buck Ram) – 3:47. Jingle Bells" (Traditional, arr. by Phil Balsley, Lew DeWitt, Don Reid, Harold Reid) – 2:54.

You know you've got one of the best country songs of all time when the Muppets cover you. That's probably not what Lew DeWitt, the original tenor for The Statler Brothers, anticipated when he wrote "Flowers on the Wall. In spite of its offbeat lyrics, it's worth a serious look for any fan of country music. Harry Reid, one of the quartet's founding members, once described his music this way: "We took gospel harmonies and put them over in country music  . Nancy Sinatra covered "Flowers on the Wall" in her 1966 album Boots. Eric Heatherly gave the song a bluesy feel on his album Swimming in Champagne. Bruce Willis also seems to be an admirer.

Sing the classics- the statler brothers.

The Statler Brothers (sometimes simply referred to The Statlers) were an American country music, gospel, and vocal group. The quartet was formed in 1955 performing locally and, in 1964, they began singing backup for Johnny Cash until 1972. Originally performing gospel music at local churches, the group billed themselves as The Four Star Quartet, and later The Kingsmen.
