Béla Bartók, György Pauk, Jenő Jandó, Kodály Quartet - Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2 / Piano Quintet mp3 album

Bartók: Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2; Piano Quintet is a 1993 Naxos recording starring violinist Gyorgy Pauk and pianist Jeno Jando. One also gets to hear the Kodaly Quartet. Keith Anderson has written the music notes. I very much enjoyed this fine recording. After listening: more like, "how great could it be!" By gum, Bartok's star keeps rising with me. Sometimes I feel he's scratching at the door labeled "Mozart": he throws around tons of musical ideas (esp. the Quintet), just like the Master himself. The performance is superb.

Béla Viktor János Bartók (/ˈbeɪlə ˈbɑːrtɒk/; Hungarian: Bartók Béla, pronounced ; 25 March 1881 – 26 September 1945) was a Hungarian composer, pianist, and ethnomusicologist. He is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century; he and Franz Liszt are regarded as Hungary's greatest composers (Gillies 2001). Through his collection and analytical study of folk music, he was one of the founders of comparative musicology, which later became ethnomusicology.
