Graham Parker And The Rumour - High Times mp3 album

Graham Parker (born 18 November 1950, Hackney, East London) is an English singer-songwriter, who is best known as the lead singer of the British band Graham Parker & the Rumour. Parker was born in Hackney, East London in 1950. He was a pupil at Chobham Secondary Modern School in Surrey. After the arrival of the Beatles, Parker and some other 12/13 year olds formed the Deepcut Three, soon renamed the Black Rockers.

The singer Graham Parker and his old band the Rumour are getting back together for a film, album and tour. At 15 he announced he wanted to be a naturalist like David Attenborough, having no idea that might require something more than a technical high school degree. His youth employment officer (what the English would have called a guidance counselor if they had believed in guidance) had other ideas. He said, ‘I think you’d be good working in a supermarket.

The important distinction in Spectrum's 2014 compilation is that this is not the best of Graham Parker, it's the best of Graham Parker & The Rumour, which means this double-disc concentrates on Parker's '70s heyday.

In 1980, The Rumour recorded their third and last album in two different versions. It not only features three different songs, but it was recorded at a different time and place and has a radically different feel to it. In our opinion, it is superior to the original. This is the first solo album from Brinsley Schwarz (himself), formerly with Brinsley Schwarz (the band), Ducks Deluxe, and Graham Parker and the Rumour, among others. All songs written by Brinsley Schwarz. All Guitars, Bass, and Vocals by Brinsley Schwarz. Additional musicians include James Hallawell (keyboards), Ralph Salmins (drums), Simon Taylor (saxophone), Melvyn Duffy (pedal steel).
