Sheer Mag - Need To Feel Your Love mp3 album
Philly punks Sheer Mag will release its debut album this summer.
Sheer Mag stick the landing on Need To Feel Your Love getting more than just a few singles worth of great music out on this record. Their debut album is a strong showcase that only suffers slightly from the pacing issue of moving to a 12-song LP after mastering the EP format.

Sheer Mag is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, formed in 2014. A combination of 1970s rock and punk ethos, the band continued to gather attention and has released three 7-inch EPs as of March 2016. In January 2015, Rolling Stone featured the band as one of "10 New Artists You Need To Know", describing them as "a gang of punks with a not-so-secret love of Seventies classic rock. Four of five band members attended the State University of New York at Purchase.
Sheer Mag‘s debut full-length album, Need To Feel Your Love, opens on Inauguration Day 2017. Leadoff track Meet Me in the Street is a scene of vandalism and anarchy, an orgy of shattered glass and police offers dodging projectiles. On paper it reads like vintage punk circa 1977 a la The Clash’s most explicitly political moments, the sound of young people fed up and ready to respond to oppressive authority figures with blunt objects and instruments of mayhem. The dichotomy at play on Meet Me, and by extension all of Need to Feel Your Love, is one that Sheer Mag’s maintained since their debut EP in 2015.
The rest of ‘Need To Feel Your Love’, the band’s full-length follow-up to the three EPs (handily titled ‘I’, ‘II’ and ‘III’) released since 2014, has much the same impact. It thwacks you right in the gut from the get go. Kyle Seely’s buzzing riff on opener ‘Meet Me In The Street’ tees up a bruising story of the violence that unfolded in Washington DC during Donald Trump’s inauguration. You’ll think of AC/DC as the guitars crunch, but Tina Halladay’s soulful screams of Justice for all and grunts of Huuuh! offer an immediate reminder that Sheer Mag are a big-hearted band. Energy, desire and that indefinable cool that any great rock band must have burst from every angle. This album feels like a celebration, and Sheer Mag sure deserve one. Details.

Sheer Mag has created an album on which even their breeziest hooks drip with tension and rage. Will Halladay continue to explore new facets of her weapon of a voice? Indeed, perhaps the most exciting aspect of Need to Feel Your Love is that it feels like Sheer Mag is only just scratching the surface.
Sheer Mag’s heady mixture of influences shouldn’t work. And yet, their tireless curiosity and genuine affection for rock song forms is what separates Need to Feel Your Love from sounding like a conventional tribute. Sheer Mag is a band that’s unafraid to feel, whether it’s desperation, rage, or overwhelming love. Over the course of an urgent debut, they let their guard down and embrace their emotions, showing the rest of us that we could all afford to as well.
