About The Passenger. From the 1977 album, Lust for Life, it was released as a B-side for the single Success. In a chat with Josh Homme, Iggy talked about the song’s main inspiration: Yeah. The Passenger was partly written about the fact I’d been riding around North America and Europe in David’s car ad infinitum. I didn’t have a driver’s licence or a vehicle.
The beasts wait in the dark and shunned reaches like the things glimpsed in the forests of old, things that looked out with red, shining eyes and hearts filled with the joy of ruin
Come ride with me Through the veins of history I'll show you a god who Falls asleep on the job. And how can we win When fools can be kings Don't waste your time Or time will waste you. No one's gonna take me alive The time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive. No one's gonna take me alive The time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive
