Ty Segall & White Fence - Hair mp3 album
Hair is a collaborative album between California musicians Ty Segall and Tim Presley (playing under the name White Fence). The album was released through Drag City Records for Record Store Day 2012, for a limited run but has however, been repressed. The album was originally intended to be a split album between the Segall and Presley, however they then decided to collaborate on all of the tracks. Presley had already previously recorded the track "I Am Not A Game," however re-recorded it for the album.

On Hair, Segall continues this trend toward more nuanced songwriting, this time in collaboration with Strange Boys member Timothy Presley under his solo guise as White Fence. Presley's warped take on '60s popsike and Segall's post-punk songwriter reflectiveness make for a form-fitting combination on Hair's eight hooky nuggets of harmony-heavy, acid-washed pop.
Singer/songwriter Ty Segall meets White Fence on the golden road to unlimited devotion! Known for Rock 'n' Roll, both savage and incisive and pastorally acid-winged, Ty Segall & White Fence have collaborated on a set of songs that accelerate wildly from where we last found them. Hair" squares their guitar-fringed traffic with purple flashes, escalating every song before multiple explosions rock the frame during their penultimate joust, with Sean Presley and Mikal Cronin along for the frantic carpet ride. Whereas much of both Ty Segall's and White Fence's (Timothy Presley from Darker My Love) previous output were modern updates of mid-60's sounding garage-psych ala the Nuggets compilation, this collaborative effort reminds me more of White Album-era Beatles, with some Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd freakouts thrown in for good measure.
Shaggy garage-rock brethren Ty Segall and Tim Presley (. White Fence) unite for this eight-song 2012 album, which gloriously tangles their best features. Observe the wobbly keyboard run and slashing, sloshing guitar of I Am Not a Game, not to mention the ramshackle jangle of Easy Ryder and fuzz-seeded sprawl of Scissor People. Unspooling like a combined highlight reel for these freewheeling California cult figures, it’s a fruitful meeting of minds that satisfies far beyond its casual premise.
