But the records themselves are frequently overlooked, with this set a case in point. Released early in 1977 - that is, before the world of collectors and anal-retentives truly leaped aboard the Stiff bandwagon - A Bunch of Stiff Records compiles a handful of future classics with a clutch of total unknowns.
He came in like a hit man to sing that day," Weiss says of the hour-long session. Colour by Numbers does display a respect for pop history. When George debuted the ballad "That's the Way (I'm Only Trying to Help You)" at a sound check one day, he said, "Everyone said, 'Oh, it's really like Elton John. After the album was released, George told a reporter that "It's a Miracle" borrowed from the melody of a Gilbert O'Sullivan song.
Stiff Records is a British independent record label formed in London, England, by Dave Robinson and Jake Riviera. Originally active from 1976 to 1986, the label was reactivated in 2007 Stiff also produced eccentric but highly effective promotional campaigns, such as the three package tours in 1977 (Live Stiffs), 1978 (Be Stiff) and 1980 (Son Of Stiff), Elvis Costello's "busking outside CBS Records" arrest and the at least 29 different wallpaper sleeves printed for Ian Dury's second album, Do It Yourself, with associated unscheduled makeovers of unsuspecting record shops.

An album is a collection of audio recordings issued as a collection on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium. Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78-rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl LP records played at 33 1⁄3 rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats.
The history and development of the blues is a long story, but if there was a 'golden era' is was probably also in the mid to late 1950's alongside the advent of Rock 'n' Roll. The ten specially selected double AA side 7" singles in this box represent ten of the very biggest and most influential artists of the genre. Over fifty years later it is inevitably impossible to get your hands on mint copies of these great songs on vinyl. Includes Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins and BB King Housed in hard slipcase, the ten 7" singles are 'dinked' as juke-box singles and the box includes a 'spider' centre for play. BB King-Every Day I Have The Blues. BB King-3 O'Clock Blues.
