David Bowie - Low Live mp3 album

Low is the 11th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records on 14 January 1977. Recorded following Bowie's move to West Berlin after a period of drug addiction and personal instability, Low became the first of three collaborations with musician Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti, later termed the "Berlin Trilogy"

Following through with the avant-garde inclinations of Station to Station, yet explicitly breaking with David Bowie's past, Low is a dense, challenging album that confirmed his place at rock's cutting edge.

Released January 14, 1977. 1. Speed of Life Lyrics. About Low . Moving to West Berlin to kick cocaine, Bowie hooked up with producer Brian Eno. Low was the first of the trilogy of albums they made, full of electronic instrumentals and quirky funk like Sound and Vision. During this time, Bowie also produced Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life and Idiot, the high point of Iggy’s solo career.

Released: January 1977 Label: RCA Producers: David Bowie, Tony Visconti. 2. Breaking Glass (Bowie/David/Murray). 3. What In the World.

As a young Bowie fan, I always found the first side of the album, with its sharp and easily recognisable rhythms and short cutting-edge tracks (few more than three minutes long), much more listenable to that the second, mostly instrumental side. Over the years I’ve come to appreciate the Eno atmosphere that was laid down and can see how Low with its sonic scapes might have begun life as part of the soundtrack to the film The Man Who Fell to Earth. The album is more montage than theme, though the special effects that cut through Sound and Vision chillingly reflect a drug induced breakdown.

Notes

The Low album played for the first time in it's entirety. Live at the Roseland Ballroom. This was the warm-up show for the Heathen Tour. New York, 11 June, 2002.

"In 1976, or thereabouts, I presented an album to my then record company, RCA. They sent me a telegram, and said, 'If we give you the money, would you please go back to Philadelphia and re-do Young Americans? We don't want this thing you've given us'. So I would like to re-present that album again 25 years later. The album is 'Low'".
