Eurreal Wilford "Little Brother" Montgomery (Kentwood, Louisiana, April 18, 1906 – Champaign, Illinois, September 6, 1985) was an American jazz, boogie-woogie and blues pianist and singer. Largely self-taught, Montgomery is often thought of as just a blues pianist, but he was an important blues pianist with an original style. He was also quite versatile, however, and worked in jazz bands including larger ensembles that used written arrangements. Although he did not read music, he learned band routines by ear, once through an arrangement and he had it memorized.

Best known as a blues pianist/singer, Little Brother Montgomery (1906-1985), born in Louisiana, performed in a variety of southern locales before eventually settling in Chicago. This recording is his first album of religious songs. His relaxed, easygoing piano playing never overpowers his singing, absent on only two tracks. Veil of Beulah is a piano solo, and He'll Understand features an unidentified female vocalist. He also is accompanied on other tracks by backup singers and an unobtrusive guitar. Liner notes by blues historian and biographer Stephen Calt explore African American.

The Montgomery Brothers were a jazz trio consisting of the brothers Wes Montgomery (electric guitar, 1923–1968), Buddy Montgomery (piano, vibraphone, 1930–2009) and Monk Montgomery (electric bass, double bass, 1921–1982). During the mid-1950s, they were members of the Montgomery-Johnson Quintet with Alonzo Johnson and Robert "Sonny" Johnson.
