Larry Santos (born 2 June 1941 in Oneonta, New York) is an American pop music singer-songwriter. Santos wrote songs for several American pop bands in the 1960s, including the 1963 hit "Candy Girl" for The Four Seasons which reached number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the mid-Sixties, he recorded singles as part of a group called The Madisons, and then under his own name.
Larry Coryell was born in Galveston, Texas. He never knew his biological father, a musician. He was raised by his stepfather Gene, a chemical engineer, and his mother Cora, who encouraged him to learn piano when he was four years ol. .Larry recorded one of Tracey’s compositions, First Day of Autumn on his album The Lift in 2013 on Wide Hive Records. Bireli Lagrene, And Special Guests (1986). Mark Murphy, September Ballads (1988). Jack Walrath, Out of the Tradition (1992).
This song is by Larry Santos and appears on the album You Are Everything I Need (1976). The way you look can drive a man crazyYour knowing smile can get you great thingsA kiss from you and my life gets hazyYou make a man forget there was ever anyone but you, but. I need a loving womanNot just a thing for just one nightI need a loving womanOne that satisfies just one man.
Larry Santos will forever be known for the "cool bearded dude who hosted the local Detroit kids' show: HOT FUDGE SHOW", which still has not seen the DVD reissue bins yet! That was the infamous late 70's. Larry Santos was also known for a great songwriter (he penned the great pop-ish doo-wop hit for the Four Seasons, "Candy Girl"). Being a man in the shadows put Larry in a sad disposition. The clean shaven Larry armed with piano abilities and a gruff-soulful voice recorded this album with hits in mind, and maybe in a fair world it would have happened, but alas, this LP had a mild existence and never was played beyond the local-Detroit area radio stations. Ironically this LP contained no covers of well-known hits of the day, which might have hindered it's selling to the markets.
