Kurtis Blow / The Gap Band - Breaks / Burn Rubber mp3 album
Kurtis Blow is the self-titled debut album by American rapper Kurtis Blow. It was released in 1980 by Mercury Records. The record includes the song "The Breaks", which was often sampled later in hip-hop records, mainly for its introduction made by Blow's a cappella vocal, and for the drum break, giving a wordplay dimension to the title. Rappin' Blow, Pt. 2" was issued as a single that had a do-it-yourself B-side, the instrumental version.

Clap your hands everybody If you got what it takes 'Cause I'm Kurtis Blow and I want you to know That these are the breaks. Kurtis Blow’s classic song describes numerous unfortunate situations that people go through and have to deal with because, well, those are the breaks. Along the way he uses a variety of definitions of the word ‘breaks’ (and its homophone ‘brakes’). It was the first rap single to be certified Gold in August 1980.
