Kōenji Hyakkei (高円寺百景, "Hundred Sights of Kōenji"), also known as Kōenjihyakkei, is a Japanese Zeuhl band led by Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins fame. The band released their first (self-titled) album in 1994 with Aki Kubota from Bondage Fruit on vocals and keyboard.
Koenji Hyakkei 高円寺百景. One of the best avant progressive rock band.
I highly recommend anyone enjoying Koenji Hyakkei to get this DVD: the band is fully capable of playing the entire Anger Shisspa even faster! But if you like KH, you know that it is not just about the technique. Either you find them amusing or not, but if you do, looking at them while playing their songs gives you an excellent feeling. The drummer has an easy flow whatever he does, even when playing some complex line while yelling intricates lyrics. The keyboardist is precise and energetic.

Few bands are more enigmatic than Koenji Hyakkei (written in Japanese 高円寺百景). Though firmly grounded in the Zeuhl style of Magma, they have taken it to new and unexplored places. The combination of the two gives a sense that you're listening to the music of a culture that exists only in minds of a handful of creative people.
