Doris Day - Show Time mp3 album

Day by Day is a Doris Day album released by Columbia Records on December 17, 1956. The title is an obvious pun, both meaning "on a daily basis" (as implied in the song title) and "(Doris) Day, in the daytime" (and thus leading to a later album entitled Day by Night). The album was issued as Columbia catalog CL-942. All tracks have vocals by Day accompanied by Paul Weston's orchestra.

Show Time is a Doris Day album, primarily consisting of well-known songs from Broadway musicals, released by Columbia Records on July 11, 1960, as a monaural LP album, catalog number CL-1470, and a stereophonic LP album, catalog number CS-8261. The album was combined with Day's 1963 album, Love Him, on a compact disc, issued on November 14, 2000 by Collectables Records.

Doris Day (born Doris Mary Kappelhoff; April 3, 1922 – May 13, 2019) was an American actress, singer, and animal welfare activist. She began her career as a big band singer in 1939, achieving commercial success in 1945 with two No. 1 recordings, "Sentimental Journey" and "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time" with Les Brown & His Band of Renown. During the war troops referred to her as "the American V-2" She left Brown to embark on a solo career and recorded more than 650 songs from 1947 to 1967.

While other pop singers regularly turned out two or three LPs a year, Day had kept to a strict one-album-a-year schedule, while focusing primarily on her movie career. So, not only did she up her output, she also took on a prestigious project, an album of Broadway musical standards conducted by the estimable Axel Stordahl. That should have made for a disc that was a cut above Day's usual, but somehow it didn't happen.

Original Album Classics. Doris’ sparkling solo performance of Till I Waltz Again with You finishes Day Time on the Radio with a flourish before a couple of hidden bonus tracks: her renditions of the opening It’s Magic and closing Love to Be with You radio themes sans announcer. Joe Marchese’s detailed notes and rare photos round out what is a fantastic addition to the Doris Day discography, the first authorized release ever of her long-lost radio performances. The fare here is duet segments from the Doris Day Radio Show of 1952-3. Many of her guests were not singers. Kirk Douglas, for example.
