Hidden Faces" was Produced by Dave M. Allen (Sisters of Mercy, The Cure) and John A. Rivers (Dead Can Dance) This album marked the reformation of Clan Of Xymox and it's attitude towards it's own written history, convincing everyone once again of their qualities both on recordings and live performances. In the year 2000 Clan of Xymox concentrated also on a tour and promotion in Europe, East Europe the USA/Canada and Latin America and continued to play a great number of Festivals during the summer in Europe with a personal highlight for the band being the former Olympic Stadium Palacio d' Deportes in Mexico City where 2. 00 people attended their concert.

Clan of Xymox (also known as Xymox) blend an eclectic and vibrant mix of darkwave, synthpop, and gothic rock. From the Netherlands, Xymox was established in 1983 in Nijmegen by frontman Ronny Moorings and then live-in Anke Wolbert. Their first EP, "Subsequent Pleasures" added Pieter Nooten afterwards on keyboards and left a mark on an emerging Euro-wave market.

They released one mini-album, 'Subsequent Pleasures', as Xymox, then released two albums and a number of singles on 4AD as Clan of Xymox. They shortened their name to Xymox again in 1988 and signed to a subsidiary of Polygram. Their releases as Xymox were in a more synth-pop/dance music vein. The Xymox era ended in 1997 when, in the midst of a revival in the gothic scene, Ronny Moorings made the decision to restart Clan of Xymox and return to his musical roots. Since then, the band has released a series of critically acclaimed albums.

Clan of Xymox is the band’s first album released in 1985 on the 4AD label. The album was produced by Ivo Watts-Russell and Clan of Xymox. The reissue CD version of 1986 included two remixed songs: A Day and Stranger, remixed by Watts-Russell and engineered by John Fryer. Clan of Xymox Q&A.
