Spunk is a bootleg demo album by the English punk rock band The Sex Pistols. It was originally released in the United Kingdom during September or October 1977. The album comprises studio demos and talking recorded with Dave Goodman during 1976 and early 1977, while original bass player Glen Matlock was still a member of the band. Most of the songs would later be re-recorded and officially released on the group's album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.

The notorious UK punk band record their first (and only) album after being dropped by A&M Records. Sid Vicious is added to the band after original bassist Glen Matlock departs. He is asked to play on the album when Vicious is not up to the task. Matlock initially agrees, but when he does not receive payment in advance, he simply does not turn up. Guitarist Steve Jones does double duty, playing bass as well. In time, the album is regarded as one the greatest and most influential punk recordings of all time. It is remastered and reissued in the UK for its thirtieth anniversary in 2007, as a three CD box set + DVD and bonus 7" of God Save The Queen b/w No Feelings. In October of 1977, the band's debut album, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols, was released. Although the band despised the established rock and roll journalism found in the pages of Rolling Stone magazine, they were praised for playing "with an energy and conviction that is positively transcendent in its madness and fever. Evaluating this Sex Pistols' performance in terms of music is a relatively pointless exercise, as the band had no desire to please the audience in terms of music, nor could they even play well in any traditional sense. The performance, devoid of pacing, range, tempo, or melody, is instead an onslaught of rage, rebellion, and release, which is relentlessly ragged throughout the set.
