The band’s music is groove-based, freely-improvised, jazz-infused neo-soul, drawing influence from varied artists like Theolonius Monk, James Brown, Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Brad Mehldau, Steely Dan and Robert Glasper; from soulful and sultry to eclectic and eccentric.

Steve McQueen is the second studio album by English pop band Prefab Sprout, released in June 1985 by Kitchenware Records. The album was released by CBS in the United States as Two Wheels Good due to a legal conflict with the estate of American actor Steve McQueen. The album cover references Steve McQueen's lifelong passion for Triumph motorcycles and the 1963 film The Great Escape, starring McQueen and featuring prominent motorcycle chase scenes (with stunts performed by himself on a Triumph motorcycle).

In Singapore, The Steve McQueens enjoy a cult popularity. To fellow musicians and ardent followers of the creative scene here, they're big. From their birth in 2013 till now, the local soul-funk band has played at numerous international music festivals, including Tokyo's SUMMERSONIC and Australia's Jazz by the Bay. They even caught the attention of veteran acid-jazz producer Jean-Paul Maunick when he watched them perform in 2014 - so enamoured was the Incognito founder that he flew them to London to record their second album, Seamonster.

The Steve McQueens was formed in Singapore in 2013. The group began as a trio, with Eugenia as singer, Joshua on keyboard and Ben on bass, working at the Oriental Hotel as a jazz trio. As the band began to establish itself in the local scene, two other members were recruited, Marcus Szeto who joined playing the guitar and Bobby Singh as the percussionist. The Steve McQueens did their first gig on April 23, 2013 at the Sultan Jazz Club  . The Steve McQueens Seamonster album is also the very first release for Bluey’s brand new joint record label project alongside David Ranalli, Julian Fontenell and Ravi Chidambaram, Splash Blue. The album is released in Asia on Singapore-based label Foundation Music.
