DJ Dede - Pure MDMA Vol. 2 mp3 album

DJ Dede here has compiled quite a nice comp for fans of psy trance. This comp is slightly on the minimal progressive tip, but still has plenty of full on goodness to your stomping cravings. This comp is a hell of a lot better than most of the comps coming out today, but even among this quality, there are a few stand outs. To me Future Prophecy is sort of like what X-Dream would be doing if they had gone full on rather than dark minimal after the Radio album. Deep bass, nice melodies and a great vibe if out this excellent moody track. The very next track battles Future Prophecy for track of the comp award and they basically end up in a tie.

The first among said stand outs is the now classic GMS Remix of Deedrah's Re-Load. I remember this track was bring down the house in the clubs in Osaka just before I returned to the US and even if you are completely sick of the GMEsque formula these days, pretty much everyone admits they hit a home run with this remix (also available as a 12" released on Hadshot) just before turning into a music factory. The next highlight for me is Future Prophecy's In:Synch. I've been a big fan of Future Prophecy's sound for awhile now and the sound continues to be good here. Shakta's Funky is just that. A groovy little number right out of the library of everything that makes Shakta great. Those nice semi acidy panned leads. The 303 sounding bass and low end parts. If only more music was being made like this these days, the psy world would be a much more beautiful place. Etnica's Hell's Kitchen, while not being of the same caliber as the last two tracks, is a seriously nice number bring back the heavy melody in this world of wizzy and zippy flyby effects. All and all a very nice comp that I highly recommend. 7/10
