While not the most original or intellectual of bands, this is a fun album with varied songs that are preformed with a lot of verve. Highlights include Roll Columbia Roll, Sitting in An Isle of Palms, and especially the John F Kennedy Blues, which I first heard on WTMD in Baltimore. This song is like an out take off Highway 61 if Dylan had taken acid and decided to write about that fateful 1963 day in Dallas.

The album title reflects the number of releases the Coal Porters have issued since shifting from their country-rock beginnings to alternative bluegrass. Their preceding album, Find The One, from 2012, also offers 10 tracks written by various band members, as well as covers of David Bowie's Heroes and the Rolling Stones' Paint It, Black. Durango, the Coal Porters' 2010 compact disc, also appeared on the Prima label. Ed Stasium recorded the 12-track CD in Durango, Colorado, the Southern Colorado town for which the album is named. Tracks featuring this line-up appeared on the EP Rebels Without Applause, Land of Hope and Crosby and Los London. By then Griffin and Thomson had relocated to the United Kingdom, while Block opted for a career in Nashville and Kaulkin moved to the business side of music to run Epitaph Records and found the ANTI- label.

The Coal Porters are a London based bluegrass band, led by Sid Griffin. Since forming the band out of the ashes of The Long Ryders in the late 1980s the band line-up has changed on numerous occasions. The current line-up is: Kerenza Peacock – fine fiddle and vocals; Paul Fitzgerald – banjo and vocals; Sid Griffin – vocals, mandolin, harmonica and autoharp; Andrew Stafford – bass; Neil Robert Herd – guitar and vocals. When the band started out in the early 1990s, they were very much continuing where The Long Ryders left off, playing country-rock, or Americana music. 3 tracks · 1 April 2011.
