It takes so much time and dedication to create music, it takes passion, energy, talent and good ideas. You will find everything I’m talking about, in this video. I was so mesmerized when I was watching this clip. The creativity of these artists is so brilliant and unique, the energy and the passion they put in their music is so evident in this video. A Kind Of Magic is the twelfth album of Queen’s discography, and it was recorded between August of 1985 and April of 1986, in three different studios from London, Germany and Switzerland. The project came to life as the soundtrack of the movie ‘Highlander’, after the director Russell Mulcahy asked for some tracks to the band. The members of Queen saw the first 20 minutes of footage to have an idea of the tone of the production, and became so marvelled they soon composed various songs inspired in this story that would from the album.
The album A Kind of Magic is Queen's twelfth studio album but the first to include a title track. This was a big song on Queen's 1986 Magic tour, which was their last with the original members, since Freddie Mercury would be diagnosed with AIDS the following year and was too sick to tour after that . Yes, Queen was a magic band! They could do anything and do it well! Valerie, California.
It's a kind of magic There can be only one This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be done. This flame that burns inside of me I'm hearing secret harmonies It's a kind of magic The bell that rings inside your mind Is challenging the doors of time It's a kind of magic It's a kind of magic. This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be, will soon be, will soon be done This is (This is) a kind (A kind) of magic There can be only one, one, one, one This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be done, done. A Kind of Magic was written by the band’s drummer, Roger Taylor, for the film Highlander. The phrase a kind of magic is used in Highlander by Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) as a description of his immortality. Roger Taylor liked the phrase so much that he used it as inspiration for the song.
So it's hard to depict, that it's not all one soundtrack, and it's not just Queen. We had to try to bring two projects together. And so, I mean, within the members of the band as well, we were fighting as to who liked which song. Queen's 14th album, A Kind of Magic, sold 100,000 copies in the seven days after its release, and entered the British chart at number one. A week later Invisible Touch by Genesis replaced it at the top of the chart. Clearly, these are two of the most spectacularly successful releases this year, yet hardly a good word has been said about either in the press.
