Bottom Line is an album by British bluesman John Mayall with various musicians. It is the only Mayall album that has never been released on CD. Side one. "Bottom Line" ( 1). I'm Gonna Do It" ( 1). Side two. "Revival" ( 2). The Game of Love" ( 2). 1): John Mayall-vocals, harmonica. Leon Pendarvis-keyboards. Frankie Centano-bass. Jeffrey Miranov-guitar.

John Mayall played a crucial role in the development of British music in the 60′s that re-vitalised the Blues and recycled it to the world. John formed The Bluesbreakers in 1963, but that band had at least 15 line-ups in the next two years. Jack Bruce and Mick Fleetwood were passing members, but John McVie’s bass playing became a fixture, and versions of The Bluesbreakers backed John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker and Sonny Boy Williamson on their UK tours. The ‘Bare Wires’ album of 1968 showed some jazz influences, with liberal use of the horn section, but the same year ‘Blues from Laurel Canyon’ emerged with Mayall and Taylor backed only by bass and drums. Even drums were omitted from the live album ‘Turning Point’, recorded just after Taylor went to join The Stones, on a free-flowing but reflective album. John Mayall Discography.

Related: A chat with John Mayall. Adds Mayall, I’ve been using the trio format for our live shows for a year already, and the reason for that came about quite accidentally when my guitarist Rocky Athas wasn’t able to make a festival gig due to airline cancellations. Since then, I found that the interplay and dynamics have created a more personal upfront sound in my live performances. I can’t speak too highly of bass player Greg Rzab and drummer Jay Davenport, who have been my bandmates for the last ten years or more. Their Chicago roots are to the fore every time we get onstage together
