Haim – 'Days Are Gone'. Californian sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim appear on their album cover sitting in deck chairs, wearing sunglasses. They’re taking it easy: something they do a lot of. Even their most bitterly romantic songs like ‘Better Off’ and ‘Forever’ are funkified to the point where the nights spent crying that inspired them are distant memories – or at least have been repressed by piña coladas. This lightness of tone is a large part of the appeal of ‘Days Are Gone’, the band’s debut album

At last, Haim have announced details for their hotly anticipated debut album. Days Are Gone will arrive September 30 via Columbia Records. Featuring a total of 11 tracks, the upcoming LP will collect the California sisters’ much-loved early singles - Forever, Falling, and Don’t Save Me - along with recent stomper The Wire. Sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim recorded much of the effort in their native Los Angeles, working with producers Ariel Rechtshaid (Usher, Vampire Weekend) and James Ford (Florence + the Machine, Arctic Monkeys). Despite the fact that the ’80s-mining trio have.

But this isn’t just mimicry; sweet, smart homemade invention abounds, from the wistful R&B anthem Days Are Gone to The Wire, a New Wave/country-pop stomper with aching sass. This is the kind of microtriumph you sit up and root for. In This Article: Haim. Lauren Alaina Covers Cheap Trick’s ‘Surrender’ at Sound City Studios.

I contacted the band's TWO labels (Universal and Sony) and the company that mastered the album, The Lodge in New York City. Only the The Lodge would talk to me, and only after several attempts. I asked if he was happy that The Lodge gave the band such a terribly mastered album and he seemed defensive, that perhaps it wasn't terrible. I told him it was a terrible and unreleasable mastering job.
