W 1973 r. wystąpił na Studenckim Festiwalu Jazzowym „Jazz nad Odrą ’73 we Wrocławiu i na pierwszym zagranicznym Jazz Festiwal Emmaboda w Szwecji. W 1974 r. zdobył główną nagrodę w Konkursie Jazzu Tradycyjnego „Złota Tarka, wystąpił na Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Jazzowym Jazz Jamboree w Warszawie i na festiwalach dixielandowych w Szwecji, NRD, Szwajcarii oraz w Czechosłowacji, gdzie zdobył srebrny medal i tytuł „Zespołu Ekstraklasy Europejskiej.
