This album is the very closest the band came to the strict blues genre, and even then they incorporated a few nods to jazz (which would become more overt on their second album) on some tracks ("Wee Baby Blues" and the short "Arthur's Boogie" are examples) that gave the band added depth. This album was only a taste of things to come! The Climax Blues Band made some of the best music of the era! The " Tightly Knit " album was blues at it's finest!! Mr. Gawlik evidently never listened to it, and I doubt if he listened to this one either.

The second side/half of the album is much calmer, as though Yoko having waged war on her own terms, having exacted sufficient revenge and penitence, is truly ready to move forward. The trajectory of Double Fantasy makes total sense to me. On this album I hear the sound of a woman not only standing her ground but fighting and clawing her way for respect and space in her relationship and in her life. She wanted both and on Double Fantasy she didn’t rest until she got it. No, a woman should not have to do that. What happens when a woman dares to take up as much space on an album as Yoko Ono did on ‘Double Fantasy’? I’ll tell you.
