Rise is the debut album by Northern Ireland rock band The Answer. It has sold in excess of 30,000 copies in the UK & Europe and 10,000 on day one in Japan. The album was recorded at Olympic Studio 1, Monnow Valley in Wales and the Albert Studio in London during the fall of 2005. Produced by Andy Bradfield and Avril MacKintosh, the Albert Productions team (with back room production from George Young) and Neal Calderwood from the Bands hometown.
I had my greatest lessons, loves and disappointments at the greatest summer camp in the world and have been fortunate to discover there are more great camps like it, but not nearly enough. I have high expectations of myself and others, low tolerance for excuses, but a willingness to stick with anyone who will keep working on it, whatever that is or who will keep working with me when I do the same. For the most part I don't care if someone disagrees with me, but I will hold my ground, even passionately.

The answer is that you can do this, and I think this it is actually a reasonable alternative architecture if you are building this type of system today. When I’ve discussed this with people, they sometimes tell me that stream processing feels inappropriate for high-throughput processing of historical data. Adding a second consumer for the same data is just another reader pointing to a different position in the log. Kafka supports replication and fault-tolerance, runs on cheap, commodity hardware, and is glad to store many TBs of data per machine. So, retaining large amounts of data is a perfectly natural and economical thing to do and won’t hurt performance.
