The Rivingtons - All That Glitters mp3 album

The band was originally from Los Angeles, California, and can also be heard on the background vocals of Paul Anka's first recording, Thurston Harris's 'Little Bitty Pretty One' (as The Sharps) and even on Duane Eddy's 'Rebel Rouser'! This CD compromises the rare and obscure releases that these talented young men relased from 1964 through to 1973 and their re-done version of Papa-Oom-Mou-Mou!

The Rivingtons were a 1960s doo-wop group, known for their 1962 hit novelty record "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow". The members were lead vocalist Carl White (died January 7, 1980), tenor Al Frazier (d. November 13, 2005), baritone Sonny Harris, and bass singer Turner "Rocky" Wilson, J. .Frazier was replaced by Madero White for a period in the late 1970s. The Rivingtons had originally been known as the Sharps and had had success in the charts with Thurston Harris's "Little Bitty Pretty One" in 1957.

His next release was a cover of the Rivingtons' rhythm and blues classic "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow", but it got no higher than number 38 on the British charts. After subsequent releases stalled in similar fashion, Gary Glitter announced his retirement from music to start a family life with his new partner in early 1976. That same year, his first hits package, simply titled Greatest Hits, was released. It entered the UK Top 40 best-seller charts. A similar budget album, entitled I Love You Love Me Love, was issued by Hallmark Entertainment the following year  . This helped provide the opportunity for Glitter to cut a dance medley of his greatest hits, "All That Glitters", which charted in 1981
