I cannot say that had I been compiling the album, I would have chosen the same tracks by any means, but when most albums submit only one or two tracks, that is perhaps to be expected.
Flawed though Shanachie's Steeleye Span catalog is, it's hard to pick fault with Portfolio. the lengthier album take that demanded restoration (the same substitution was made for Shanachie's reissue of the Now We Are Six album); and the cropping of a few seconds of speech from the conclusion of "New York Girls. Little things indeed, and all are readily balanced by the inclusion of the folk-metal "Alison Gross," the haunting "Black Jack Davy," and the avant melancholy of "Fighting for Strangers.

Adequate, but far from complete sampler of Steeleye's career. The CD draws far to heavily from "Back In Line" (on of the band's weaker albums) while ignoring "Ten Man Mop" altogether. 6 people found this helpful. CD album released in 1989. Ten Man Mop or Mr. Reservoir Butler Rides Again is the third album by Steeleye Span, recorded in 1971. Of all their albums, it is the most acoustic and it also has considerable Irish influence. Steeleye Span - The King (The Best Of) is an original CD album complete with all artwork & is in excellent condition.
