Komeda's debut album "Pop På Svenska" was released in the beginning of 1993 - a thoroughly dealt with album with lots of strings and big sounds. Two years later the EP "Plan 714 Till Komeda" came out. A new member, replacing Henrik Andersson, was guitarist Mattias Norlander, who earlier played in the rock band Blithe. Subsequently followed the longed-for second album, "The Genius Of Komeda", released in January 1996. The album was praised in Swedish media and later on in American when the album was released in the USA on the Chicago label Minty Fresh

The Plan 714 Till EP bridges the time between Komeda's first two full-length albums - Pop På Svenska, and their follow-up (and first international release), The Genius of Komeda. This shorter offering encapsulates the band's fun and bright sound; included are their trademark driving, tight grooves (as on "Herbamore"), and their soft, dreamy side ("Som I Fjol")
Komeda is a Swedish pop/indie band from Umeå. The group is named in honour of the late jazz musician Krzysztof Komeda. The band started in 1991 as a pit band for a Buster Keaton festival. Forming as a quartet, Komeda consisted of vocalist Lena Karlsson, guitarist Henrik Andersson (in 1994 replaced by Mattias Norlander), bassist Marcus Holmberg and Holmberg's brother Jonas on drums. During 2001 the band was reduced to a trio with the departure of Norlander.
