Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962 is a double album featuring live performances by the English rock band the Beatles, recorded in late December 1962 at the Star-Club during their final Hamburg residency. The album was released in 1977 in two different versions, comprising a total of 30 songs by the Beatles. The performances were recorded on a home tape machine using a single microphone, resulting in a low fidelity recording.

Blind John Davis was a Chicago club legend whose brash Blues piano was on many big hits, and took the Blues to Europe with Big Bill Broonzy. John was a popular visitor to Europe over the whole of the rest of his life, and he cut several albums there, most notably ‘Stompin’ on a Saturday Night’, a live album recorded in Germany in 1976. John’s lilting voice and smooth piano style gave his Blues a sophisticated flavour, but when he played boogie-woogie he could really rock out. John was a strong performer on the Chicago club scene for the rest of his life, which came to an end in his hometown in 1985. John has lived his whole life in clubs just like this one

Blind John Davis (December 7, 1913 - October 12, 1985) was an American, blues, jazz and boogie-woogie pianist and singer. Davis was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, but he relocated with his family to Chicago at the age of two. Seven years later he had lost his sight. In his early years Davis backed Merline Johnson, and by his mid-twenties he was a well known and reliable accompanying pianist. Between 1937 and 1942, Davis recorded with Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Boy Williamson I, Tampa Red, Merline Johnson, and others, playing on many recordings of that time.
