8. /10. 1. Radio Ga Ga (Taylor) – 5:45. Produced by Queen and Mack Engineered by Mack Additional engineering by Mike Beiriger Recorded at: The Manor, Wessex Sarm East Agust 1983 - January 1984 Cover concept by Queen. Radio Ga Ga. (Taylor). I'd sit alone and watch your light My only friend through teenage nights And everything I had to know I heard it on my radio
Although the album only peaked at number 23 on the . album charts, it was a Top Ten hit in just about every other area of the world, producing the huge single "Radio Ga G. Three other tracks were hits in Queen's native England - the uplifting "I Want to Break Free," the love song "It's a Hard Life," and the politically conscious rocker "Hammer to Fall," which dealt with the danger of nuclear weapons.
Queen’s 11th studio album, ‘The Works’, was a return to rock album, though they didn’t entirely discard the grooves found on ‘The Game’ and ‘Hot Space’. Published on. February 27, 2019. In the studio, the album came together over a six-month period, from high summer 1983 to the depths of winter 1984. Recording began at the Record Plant in Los Angeles, before the band returned to Musicland Studios in Munich to work with Reinhold Mack and David Richards. It was the German sessions that were finished in January 1984.
The Works, and Queen’s future works, kept their weight in gold, and the band played on. On a cultural angle, a country who didn’t even try to get the obvious joke from a video like I Want to Break Free freed up more fans in other countries to appreciate the band, live. More poignantly, the Works generated a new set of fans, European 80’s style
