Eels - Shootenanny! mp3 album
Shootenanny! /ˈʃuːtənæni/ is the fifth studio album by American rock band Eels, released in 2003 by record label DreamWorks. The album was recorded in November 2002 live in the studio, with minimal production. The album's name comes from a neologism coined by Eels front-man Mark Oliver Everett for "a social gathering at which participants engage in folk singing and sometimes dancing, but mostly the shooting of guns.

Eels' fifth album dredges the depths of misery, but doesn't come up with much. Essentially a front for singer Mark Everett, Eels occasionally marry melodic flair, wry observation and lyrical dexterity to endearing effect. Shootenanny's trick is marrying self-pity to often breezy, blues-inflected melody.
Head Eel Mark "E" Everett purges his soul with a smile on Shootenanny!, as he delivers bursts of bittersweet wit and lighthearted drama. Unlike solemn 1996 epic Electro-Shock Blues and 2001s thorny Souljacker, E's songwriting here puts the emphasis on light melodies and clean pop craft. While his limber genre-jumping often earns comparisons to Beck, there's also some of Wilcos Jeff Tweedy in Es razor-burn voice. Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample).
