Elvis Presley - Elvis In Person At The International Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada / Back In Memphis mp3 album
From Memphis to Vegas, From Vegas to Memphis is the first live album by American singer and musician Elvis Presley. It was released on October 14, 1969, by RCA Records. It is a double album, the first album, titled In Person at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, contains the live recordings of Presley's hits at the International Hotel in Paradise, Nevada, while the second album, titled Back in Memphis, contains entirely new material recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis.
When Elvis Presley's late-1960s comeback is discussed, talk generally centers on two events-his 1968 NBC-TV special and the recordings made in Memphis at American Studios shortly thereafter. There was actually a third key event-Presley's first Las Vegas engagement in 13 years (he flopped the first time), which kicked off at the brand-new International Hotel on July 31, 1969. The event is downplayed now since Vegas has become so synonymous with the King's decline-but this was a revitalized Presley, and, for the most part, he rocked. You can feel just how nervous he was to be back on stage again. 2 people found this helpful.
International Hotel, Las Vegas, NV. Submit Corrections. If the album had a flaw, it was its skimpy running time (36 minutes). We now know, from the unissued tracks from these same performances that were added to the remastered On Stage (1970), that there was more to the repertory of those five days of August 1969 shows than is represented here; but the producers, limited to a single LP, faced a major problem: Should they weigh the tracks more toward his current repertory. and recent singles, or toward his classic songs? The classic songs sort of won out, but in the decades since, those then-recent singles have risen in stature.
