The band stormed Europe in 1963 and, in 1964, they conquered America. Their groundbreaking world tours changed global youth culture forever and, arguably, invented mass entertainment as we know it today. All the while, the group were composing and recording a series of extraordinarily successful singles and albums. However, the relentless pressure of such unprecedented fame (which in 1966 became uncontrollable turmoil) led to the decision to stop touring. In the ensuing years The Beatles were then free to focus on a series of albums that changed the face of recorded music

Complete your The Beatles collection. Really great documentary about the touring days of a certain ultra-popular band directed by Ron Howard AKA Ritchie from Happy Days but unlike Happy Days, this film doesn't jump the shark and you'll have Happy Days listening to Beatles music soon after watching it! It's a great introductory piece for those who don't know much about The Beatles and you'll learn a lot about what it's like being in the most famous rock band in the world plus it's free.
The Beatles began touring Europe in late 1963, after an extraordinary arrival on the British scene in 1961 and ‘62. However, it was their much-heralded Ed Sullivan appearance on February 9, 1964 that caused The Beatles’ popularity to explode. By June, the band had commenced their first world tour, and continued on a relentless schedule for two subsequent years. By the time the band stopped touring in August of 1966, they had performed 166 concerts in 15 countries and 90 cities around the world. I just returned from the cinema in Pilsen. I saw Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years. Really amazing movie!!! Great!!!
