The music is a mixture of punk and rock and roll. stands for "Like a Mother Fucker"; in a 1977 interview in the UK monthly magazine Zigzag, Thunders said this originated from New York gang graffiti.

Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, . The mixes used were primarily what Hauser and company considered to be the "rockier, punchier" versions.

Richard Meyers, Walter Lure. Demos, Outtakes And Alternative Mixes ‎(LP, Album, RE, 180). Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers.

The Heartbreakers were a punk rock group formed in New York in May 1975 by Johnny Thunders (vocals/guitar) and Jerry Nolan (drums), who had just quit the New York Dolls, and Richard Hell (vocals/bass), who left Television the same week. After a few shows, they added Walter Lure (vocals/guitar), who had played with a group called the Demons. In 1976, Hell tried to persuade Nolan and Lure to kick Thunders out, but Nolan was too close with Johnny and kicked Hell out instead. He was replaced by Billy Rath, who, according to legend, was a gigolo.

Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers. After the New York Dolls disintegrated, largely due to the drug habits of Nolan and Thunders, these two teamed up with New York's other proto-punk bad boy Richard Hell as the Heartbreakers. It was a trio that was never going to work and Hell quickly was replaced by Walter Lure and Billy Rath. It was this line up of the band that came to the UK and toured with the Sex Pistols on the Anarchy in the UK Tour in December 1976. They then quickly produced this one studio album .

The sound is fresh, the mix is nicely balanced (sounds nice with headphones!) and the songs are essential and classic Heartbreakers. If you're a Johnny Thunders fan you must have a listen!! If you are not familiar with Thunders and the Heartbreakers, this is a good place to start. Enjoy!! For a more detailed.

This 1984 remix of the album (under the supervision of Johnny Thunders) places . favorably alongside other New York punk bands from the late '70s. Borrowing inspiration from his old band, the New York Dolls, along with Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, the Ramones, and heroin, Thunders & the Heartbreakers' junkie antics translate well to disc. Songs like "One Track Mind," "Chinese Rocks," and "Pirate Love" are great examples of these influences. Although the Heartbreakers were not as lyrically intuitive as ex-member Richard Hell or Television, the.

The Heartbreakers – . The first sleazoid supergroup of New York’s downtown scene, The Heartbreakers formed in April 1975, when Thunders and drummer Jerry Nolan acrimoniously quit The Dolls and hooked up with Richard Hell, who had left Television in similarly bitter circumstances the same week, and was developing a similarly heavy heroin habit.
