Abriendo Puertas (Opening Doors) is the second studio album released by Puerto Rican singer Jerry Rivera in early 1990. The two singles from the album, "Dime" and "Más Que Tú" charted on the Billboard Latin Songs chart. The album was considered responsible a younger audience to the salsa market and reached number-one on the Billboard Tropical Albums.
Jerry Rivera is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum salsa singer from Puerto Rico who has been active as a recording artist since he was a teenager. He was born in 1973, in Huamco, Puerto Rico, the son of singers Edwin "Pino" and Domingo Rivera. He began singing with his parents at various gatherings and was given small solo showcases at his parents' concerts. Pino recorded Jerry when he was 14 and sent the demo to CBS/Sony Discos, who signed him to a long recording contract. His debut album, Empezando a Vivir, was recorded in 1989.
Jerry Rivera (born July 31, 1973) is the highest-selling salsa artist of all time, he has amassed a devoted, international following and released a prodigious collection of music since his debut in 1989, hailing from Humacao, Puerto Rico. Born the son of singers Edwin Pino and Domingo Rivera, the young Puerto Rican began singing with his parents at concerts and gatherings in his early teens. Rivera subsequently signed a long recording contract with the label, who issued his debut album Empezando a Vivir in 1989. Led by the single De la Cabeza a los Pies, which also landed on the compilation album Non-Stop Dacning, Vol. 2, the album catapulted the singer to national recognition. The following year Rivera’s follow-up, 1990’s Abriendo Puertas, cemented his appeal, spawning a pair of singles Dime and Más Que Tu.

With his first album, Empezando A Vivir, Jerry Rivera earned the title "El Bebé de la Salsa" (the salsa baby). This project generated the hit, De La Cabeza A Los Pies (loosely translates to "From Head To Toes"). His second album, Abriendo Puertas ('Opening Doors'), produced the hit songs Esa Niña ('That Girl'), Dime ('Tell Me') and Como un Milagro ('Like a Miracle') became number one hits first in Puerto Rico, then among the Hispanic populations in the United States and finally across Latin America
