The Philadelphia Experiment - The Philadelphia Experiment mp3 album

The Philadelphia Experiment is a 2001 studio album by The Philadelphia Experiment, a collaborative project including classical/jazz pianist Uri Caine, jazz bassist Christian McBride, and hip hop drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. It features guest appearances from guitarist Pat Martino, trumpeter John Swana, and cellist Larry Gold. It peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. The album borrows its name from an urban legend about a supposed .

The Philadelphia Experiment is an alleged secret experiment of 1943 in which the . Navy had a very mysterious disaster involving teleportation. The story of the Philadelphia Experiment begins in October of 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, though the story did not turn up until more than ten years later. Purportedly, some men aboard the SS Andrew Furuseth saw a ship spontaneously appear in the water in Norfolk on October 28. The story goes that it came from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The destroyer had first disappeared and then it instantaneously teleported to Norfolk. The disappearance and the teleportation were apparently two different functions of the experiment. In other words, the disappearance was not the result of the teleportation,.

The Philadelphia Experiment is the self-titled album resulting from a collaborative project including Uri Caine (keyboards), Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson (drums) and Christian McBride (bass)  . The result is described by critics as an "insanely funky" album. Mister Magic" is followed by a "hidden track", where Christian McBride plays a cover of "Just the Two of Us" by Grover Washington, J. with bass tracks only, starting at the 4:30 mark of the song

James Longstreet uses his experiment in the destroyer escort USS Eldridge that disappears from Philadelphia. The sailors David Herdeg and his best friend Jim Parker are projected to 1984, where they meet Allison Hayes. They unsuccessfully try to contact their base and out of the blue Jimmy disappears in a hospital. Shortly before the experiment begins, as the sailors are boarding the Eldridge, you can see across to the USS Yorktown, you can see a Grumman Tracer E-1 aircraft and an unidentifiable jet with a red swept tail (possibly a Lockheed S-3 Viking). The Tracer didn't enter service until 1958 and the Viking entered service in 1974.

This loose trio date brings together three Philadelphia-bred musicians with radically divergent careers but a lot in common nonetheless. They are pianist/keyboardist Uri Caine, bassist Christian McBride, and drummer/programmer Ahmir ("?uestlove") Thompson from the Roots. It's a textbook example of how jazz, soul, and hip-hop were becoming deeply intertwined at the outset of the new millennium

The Philadelphia Experiment" is for me, the best track in this album by quite a big margin: Gorgeous. melancholic ambient trance that hasn't gotten old despite many listens. Most of the other tracks in this album are good except "Anacostia Bay" and "Brain Dead" "Anacostia Bay" drags for 10+ mins which makes it the weakest track in this album. Brain Dead" is a generic ambient passage that cannot be considered as a track. The Philadelphia Experiment" makes this album highly recommended for anyone looking for beautiful music

The following pages are based on my never released, book ( The Philadelphia Experiment from A-Z. ) Written to provide a complete overview of all acquired information to date on the Philadelphia Experiment of 1943. I have spent over 35 years digging through books, making phone calls, meeting and interviewing various people. I have walked the decks of the Eldridge’s Sister Ship to get a real idea of the scale of the experiment. I have held original letters from Carl Allen, and poured over government microfilms, and archives all in effort to compile the following information
