Carlos Gardel (born Charles Romuald Gardès; 11 December 1890 – 24 June 1935) was a French Argentine singer, songwriter, composer and actor, and the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Gardel's baritone voice and the dramatic phrasing of his lyrics made miniature masterpieces of his hundreds of three-minute tango recordings. Together with lyricist and long-time collaborator Alfredo Le Pera, Gardel wrote several classic tangos.
José Carlos Somoza Ortega (born November 13, 1959) is a Spanish author. He was born in Havana, Cuba. In 1960 his family moved to Spain after being exiled for political reasons. His family proved to be in difficult financial situation after having moved to Spain because they had been forbidden to take anything along except their child. José Carlos Mariátegui La Chira (14 June 1894 – 16 April 1930) was a Peruvian intellectual, journalist, political philosopher, and communist. A prolific writer before his early death at the age of 35, he is considered one of the most influential Latin American socialists of the 20th century.
