The Seatbelts - Cowboy Bebop mp3 album

The Seatbelts were a Japanese blues/jazz band led by composer and instrumentalist Yoko Kanno formed to create music for Cowboy Bebop. The band released nine albums, a boxed set, and a live recording DVD. The name of the band, according to the fictional description given in their first album, derives from how the performers wear seat belts to be safe while they play hardcore jam sessions.

The Cowboy Bebop anime series was accompanied by a number of soundtrack albums composed by Yoko Kanno and Seatbelts, a diverse band Kanno formed to create the music for the series, with a principal focus in jazz. The recordings were an international effort with many notable names attached, including that of recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder. The soundtrack was released in the American market by Victor Entertainment, a subsidiary of JVC Kenwood.

Seatbelts is a Japanese space jazz band led by composer and instrumentalist Yoko Kanno. The name of the Space band, according to the fictional description given in the anime series Cowboy Bebop, derives from how the performers wear seatbelts to be safe while they play hardcore jam sessions. The band performed the whole soundtrack of the anime series Cowboy Bebop and produced a total of seven albums and one live DVD. Cowboy Bebop (1998). Cowboy Bebop Vitaminless (1998). Cowboy Bebop No Disc (1998).

Overall, Cowboy Bebop OST receives top marks for its compositional variety, wild solos, and merely just for supplying 17 quality tunes. I would recommend this album to both fans and non-fans alike, or pretty much anyone who enjoys instrumental music in general. This is something for everyone on this album. The albums only weakness is that most of the tracks are too short. This is understandable, since most of them are only played for a grand total of 30 seconds during the show, but Yoko Kanno could have extended them for the OST. Also minus points for the choice of Steve Conte on Rain.

Listen free to The Seatbelts – Cowboy Bebop (Tank !, Rush and more). 17 tracks (). Cowboy Bebop is the first album created for the anime series of the same name, and the most easily categorized in terms of genre, as an outlet for many of the trademark bebop tracks. It begins with the show's theme song, "Tank!" Also worth noting is Bad Dog No Biscuits, which opens with a cover of the Tom Waits composition Midtown, before diverting wildly in its interpretation. The unparalleled musicianship and virtuosity may be why it is one of the few soundtracks to a television show to achieve.

Reviews about The Seatbelts - Cowboy Bebop (87):
Are there any EU/UK members that somehow got this and would like to trade/sell? I'm mainly looking for the vinyl, not the blu-rays or extra's, I could offer Made in Abyss.Alternatively if there is any way to still get a hold of this, let me know!
Will trade a mint copy of "Samurai Champloo - The Way Of The Samurai / Vinyl Collection" for this record.
This pressing came out amazingly. The price tag was a bit of a kick in the ass but I'm such a sucker for this soundtrack that I didn't even think twice about it. I have the bootleg also and the difference is very noticeable, this release has been properly mastered. The art book and such that came with it is also quite nice and being such a big fan I was happy to get the additional stuff, but I know this has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Be sure to not hate on Funimation for this but on Flying Dog, as theyre the ones that would only allow this to be released in a big package.
Is this for sale anywhere other than eBay? ///Anyone want to sell me their copy?
Throw her heart
Yes we are expecting some copies. Please send us a PM. Thanks.
atlas.records hi, we have it. pm for more info. thanks....atlas records. If you have more copies, I’m also interested! Message me your price, please.
hi, we have it. pm for more info. thanks....atlas records.
Price for the bundle was a little bonkers, but the products were good and when calculating the individual cost for your average artbook (very nice!) lithographs, bluerays, records, etc the $250 makes sense. Ordered this as a christmas present for my fiancé as it's one of his all time favorite series and very happy with the quality of the vinyl. 4 stars because he's a huge fan and already owned the series and movie on blueray so that bit was redundant. Too bad they only were licensed to release the record as part of the bundle. The art book is probably the best part of the bundle other than the soundtrack. From a design standpoint I think they could have done better with their cover graphics though imo.
found it randomly in my local store, i didnt know it was a pirated release
Better than trying to find, and subsequently paying for, the unicorn official release. They should block THAT one from sale on Discogs.
Screw Funimation. Buy this version. It's available in abundant quantities on ebay.
Funimation really screwed this one up. When more people own the bootleg than the real thing, it's time to do right by your fans. This was only available briefly for people who were willing to shell out $250 for a box set containing 1) This record, 2) The movie and series on Blu-Ray (that most fans already own) and 3) some extra crap no one wanted or needed. This release was a giant middle finger to Cowboy Bebop fans. Don't hold your breath for an official release. They aren't going to make it right. They just wanted money. Just get the bootleg on eBay.
Oh yeah it was bad ! This was a pathetic cash grab, and pretty ugly if you're familiar with the art of the anime. As stupid as overpriced to be fair...And as stupid as thinking fans of the series are just zombies, buying anything because they are fans, no matter the price, without a glimpse of thinking. Far more fans were angry than happy, you can dream otherwise, but that's undeniable. No wonder this "big anniversary event" was considered by the major part of the community as a disaster (the Reddit thread speaks for itself, and do I have to mention this one was the lowest priced set they tried to pull out ? The others failed hard, and this one almost did). Funimation has absolutely no excuse, they saw it coming. When you know you are going to do such a shitty work, you just don't do it and don't hide like they did.
They had to have made more than 1000 of these sets. The original voting system was through pre-orders and that surpassed well over 1000. Ive seen numbered certificates in the thousands. Plus there are unnumbered versions as well so I'd say they made a nice profit. Also youre assuming people didnt buy this "pathetic little box set" because they're... well... FANS OF THE SERIES. Some people want the blu ray. Some people want the tat. People like to collect crap myself included. Those people wont be reflected here on discogs because theyre probably not into vinyl. They just like anime. And again they couldn't press this by its itself so you take what you can get. Im honestly thankful for it.
Guys, listen. Even if FUNimation wanted to release a stand-alone release of the vinyl record, they can't do anything about it. Like Greyson mentioned, this is a Flying Dog release and it's their problem. FUNimation even mentioned this on Twitter and the fans still didn't listen. I guess it's trendy to hate on FUNimation nowadays...
The current rights holder in Japan (Flying Dog) was not willing to license the soundtrack for individual sale, packaging the release with the Collector's Edition was the only way Funimation could get it made. The bootleg is a cheap CD-mastered release which is missing a song and compressed to fit on one LP, this release while expensive was at least properly mastered and produced.
91 people have this logged in their collection. I'm willing to bet the TOTAL number of people that own it isn't much higher than that, because anyone serious enough about this collection was likely buying it just for the record (and is therefore likely a discogs user). Let's say conservatively that 200 of these are in circulation. Just let that sink in and tell me they didn't shoot themselves in the foot while attempting to get as much money from their fans as possible. They could press 2000 of these and they'd be gone in a month or less, netting them far more than their pathetic little box set ever could have.
100% agree. $250. How many people randomly have $250 to shell out in one go for a record and X number of crap which has no value to you. On top of that where's the other releases say for Europe? Nothing - Couldn't even make an order if I wanted too.
This came out preeeetttty nice. art looks great. Nice glossy cover. Wasnt to happy about the image at first but it grows on you once you see it in person. Awesome sketches and images on the inside. Plain paper inner sleeves(was hoping for anti static). Vinyl itself looks nice. Labels are ever so slightly off center on my second disc. Spindle holes are a little tight(easily remedied so doesn't bother me too much). Sound quality is very decent to me. Unfortunately I dont have the other versions for comparison though im confident its better than the boot, with proper mastering in Japan according to FUNimation. Some distortion on a few tracks, most notably on contes vocals on rain. Only serious gripe though. Definitely not perfect but for this one, I'm happy to own a legit copy.
It was part of a set for the Cowboy Bebop 20th anniversary. Available last year via pre-orders on funimation. It is no longer available and it seems like it wont be made available again anytime soon.
May i ask where did you find it? I would like to buy it.
Where can we find this please? at least 10 must be....
watching to future
Just grab a bootleg copy of ebay. They are the exact same songs (so much wasted space on the official version vinyl- they could have easily fit an extra song on both sides of disc 2) and the bootleg sounds pretty damn good. If it weren't for the book and not having the bluray I would regret buying the box set.
Link doesn't work in my country (France) :( Thanks anyway Eric
This vinyl release was made as part of a deluxe edition of the series.https://www.funimation.com/shop/home-video/cowboy-bebop-the-bounty-hunters-steel-collectors-edition-blr-00231/
A totally pirated release of the OST CD 1. Most likely copied from cd source. Levels are quiet. Art work is crisp and sharp. This is a pirated LP release. It's quality isn't going to be on par with legit licensed titles. Buyer beware.I purchased this off an eBay seller knowing exactly what it was because I refuse to be price-gouged by Funimation for their ridiculous blu-ray deluxe box set that contains the OST 1 on a licensed release. It's the first time in my life I've ever justified buying a pirated, non-licensed release, but I'm not a fan of Funimation or how they've decided to bleed fans dry.Maybe someday the Bebop license will fall into the hands of someone who can legit license the entire soundtrack catalogue on vinyl, but until that day comes, at least I can spin OST 1 on my player without having to pay $250 to do so.
I came across this bootleg pretty cheap and bought it. It's one of the best soundtracks I've bought on vinyl. The mastering is absolutely spot on in my opinion.
Thought anyone looking here might be interested in this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2018/04/28/funimation-has-some-great-box-sets-planned-for-the-20th-anniversary-of-cowboy-bebop/This music is finally getting an official release on vinyl, unfortunately it's only available as part of a couple of potentially overpriced collector sets (Funimation hasn't actually announced the prices as far as I know; I don't know what source the prices in the article come from). Maybe it'll get a standalone release down the road.
unfortunately theyve confirmed that there wont be a standalone release.
Totally disgusting. Funimation are price-gougers. Those bloated sets are gross.
Cool, but lame because you have to buy the bundle to get the soundtrack.
Is there any word from admins or mods on why the vinyl for this product is blocked? It seems completely arbitrary and I cannot find a single line explaining why this decision was made.
Admins always block confirmed bootlegs from sale. You can find it from European sites if you really want to pay several dozen usd for a copy from the CD with a missing track and low playback volume/high surface noise.
I find the sound level of the release is lower than other records. I must increase the volume. So that amplifies the friction sound on quiet tracks on side A...
After a bit of Google searching, I believe I found it for sale at "Shiny Beast music mailorder," a Netherlands website. Went ahead and placed an order, which was sort of rather interesting and quite an archaic process. I'll let you all know how it goes.I am not sure on the policy of posting links, so I didn't include it here.
God bless you, my friend, God bless you. Just placed my order. Sounds strikingly like the CD release, and I imagine that was its source. So it sounds fairly mediocre, at least on the setup I currently have access to. I will try it out in a few weeks on my main system back home.Very excited to have gotten it for a fair price. If I hadn't found it on that site, I'd never have paid how much people are asking for on eBay. I have a suspicion that the site I linked to previously is actually the manufacturer.
Hello... No I haven't received it yet, but I received notification of it shipping. Which is pretty promising. I can guarantee you that it's a bootleg, and not an official release. I have read that it sounds pretty good, so I am hopeful in regards to its quality. The site I ordered from is pretty sketch tbh, but they do payments through PayPal. Here's the link:https://www.shinybeast.nl/item/436989/kanno_yoko_the_seatbelts_cowboy_bebop_ost_1.htmlI will be sure to reply once I have received it, or after some time and I still haven't gotten it.
Hi did you get your record? Is it bootleg or official? I really want to get one for myself but info found in internet is very messy and I cant be sure about release. Please let me know
if someone in europe has one for sale, plesa message me
for fun :) https://www.behance.net/gallery/45392283/Cowboy-Bebop-LP-Boxset maybe some official release, and Tsuneo Imahori Trigun too :)
I have this for sale, message me if you're interested.
schtel I have this for sale, message me if you're interested. Good afternoon. I would like to buy, but before that I would like to know the price.
Vinyl "lovers" queuing up for an overpriced bootleg of mediocre quality... Never change guys
Obviously a rip from a CD, and I'm pretty sure it's missing a track. I still bought it, not sure why.
where else do you get this soundtrack on vinyl cause ill gladly buy it somewhere else.
Why is this version blocked? Was lucky to buy one some weeks ago :P
Pretty easy. Because it's an unofficial bootleg. And there's a track missing.
Haha same here, bought one for myself and one from a friend from the same seller. Day after that it was blocked.
It is odd how this bootleg is not allowed but others are.
Record sounds good, but The egg and I is missing...
I'm curious to know if that's a universal thing. My record is missing The Egg and I as well. If it is, it's probably worth mentioning on the release page.
Sorry, but this is a bootleg I guess. How did they make the mastering? How does it sound? I'm very suspicious about this release, although I love the soundtrack from beein a teenager till now.
I have this. The sound quality is godawful. Hopefully someone does this legitimately soon.
This was most likely cd-sourced like most bootlegs. I'm not sure how it sounds.
Where are these coming from jeez i am looking for one badly but not paying 70+ for a boot that people are probably buying for under 30 bucks somewhere just not disclosing.
Yeah mine was around $40, too. USPS managed to lose it, but it was shipped.
I got mine on here from Israel for about 40 shipped. I'm not sure why it says the lowest price is in the 60's.
Golden Lama
I ordered it from a Dutch records website, but never received it after three months (it never shipped.) Thankfully I got a refund, but it was sketchy as hell.
manage to get one like a week ago, so happy that i bought it!
there was one on sale when I looked. I got the last one
How did you get it?? There are none left for sale!
Steel balls
Can anyone give some history on this release? I've never even heard of this one until recently.
after a lengthy search, I managed to snag one. Good luck people!
Damn dude totally snatched that out from under me, if another one goes up for sale I call dibs
or the site is broken, shiny beast facebook says that they are in california
the sight is giving me a bad gateway error??? even when i sheard it and try to access it from google. unless they block US traffic which seems silly.
I found one here....customer service was non-existent but here you go: http://www.shinybeast.nl/login/
Please note that on the LP version the track, "The Egg and I" is listed on the jacket and the on the record but it is not actually on the album. There are only nine tracks on side B, not ten. At least on my version it's like that
Thanks! Yeah it obviously isn't mastered for vinyl, but then neither is my Ghost in the Shell and that sounds absolutely perfect.
It's not bad at all to my ears. Defiantly a bootleg, more than likely a rip. I'm not really an audiophile, I can defiantly tell when there are big audio issues but little ones to me arnt really noticeable. Sounds ok to me.
ᵀᴴᴱ ᴼᴿᴵᴳᴵᴻᴬᴸ
How's the sound quality? They're cramming a lot of tracks onto each side. Thanks!
I just got lucky and got one through the marketplace here.

The Apotheoses of Lacspor

anyone know where i could pick one of these up?
It's at the top of the 4th comment, but they seem to have pulled this from their website.
Where is it located in the release history? I'm not seeing a link anywhere.
Is it gone now? Can't seem to find it...plz help!
Mr Freeman
sorry but could you send me a link im not finding it
Arabella V.
Look in the release history, i've included a link to the distributor.
I, too, would like to know where to buy this. Thank you!
Why is there no vinyl release for this?! Need please!
Was just checking on this today. A travesty! They even made the blu-rays look like 45s, c'mon. Is there any Seatbelts records at all?
Totally agree. Such a high quality album, pretty old though.
Seriously! I'd pay a disgusting amount of money for a vinyl of this!
I wish there was a button for thumbing up a comment more than once.
