Reviews about Georg Friedrich Händel - Hans-Martin Linde ∙ Karl Richter ∙ Johannes Koch - 6 Sonaten Für Querflöte Und Basso Continuo (1):
Fearlessdweller
Linde and Richter are two of the foremost Baroque music scholars, conductors, and instrumentalists that helped start Baroque period performance, so this may well be the definitive version of these rarely recorded sonatas. Many of the early (60s and 70s) HIP recordings sound a bit too "polite" today, but Linde occasionally lets it rip here (e.g., in the Presto finale of Sonata #1, track A5). Sound quality is impeccable, as one would expect from an Archiv recording.
