In 1956 Reid Miles, who had worked at Esquire magazine, was employed at the label as a graphic designer and it is his creativity along with Wolff’s photographs of the musicians that have come to exemplify the art of Blue Note. Andy Warhol did a few cover drawings for Blue Note including these two Kenny Burrell albums from the late 1950s

On your second album Kenny Burrell, Volume 2, you had Horace Silver as pianist. That was also on Blue Note – we all knew each other there. He was a tremendous composer. I was so happy to have Horace on that record, as well as Hank Mobley. And don’t forget Art Blakey; he was on Blue Lights. You also worked with Oscar Peterson.
