David Werner - David Werner mp3 album
David Werner is an American rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Werner was born in Pittsburgh and released two albums on RCA Victor in the mid-1970s before signing with Epic Records later in the decade. His full-length, self-titled album, released in 1979, reached on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the single "What's Right", which reached on the Billboard pop chart in October of that year.
David B. Werner (born 1934) is author of the book Donde No Hay Doctor (Where There is No Doctor), co-founder and co-director of HealthWrights (based in Palo Alto, California) and Adjunct Associate Professor at Boston University School of Public Health, Department of International Health. A biologist and educator by training, he has worked for many years in village health care, community-based rehabilitation, and Child-to-Child health initiatives in the Third World, especially Mexico.
David Warner, a native of Whitehall, Pa, began his professional career at age 19 with his self-produced 1974 RCA album release Whizz Kid. On this glam rock classic Werner’s vocals and music were compared to his RCA label mate David Bowie. Playing guitar on Whizz Kid was Pittsburgher Mark Doyle, who later recorded with Andy Pratt and toured with Dokken and Steppenwolf.
In 1979, David Werner's third album offered some of the greatest glam sounds of the decade. On the brilliant single "What's Right" and the icy "Every New Romance," Werner does resemble Bowie vocally, with a more muscular rhythm section and even chunkier guitars, and both tracks stand up to the best of Bowie's early-'70s releases. Throughout the album, though, Werner's versatility as a vocalist, songwriter, and arranger demonstrate that he is much more than an American derivative of that other David. Can't Imagine" delivers bristling.
