Released January 13, 2017. Whilst writing this album I was drawing from relationships with landscape, movements of culture, people and their effect on their environments as they move and settle within them. For a year living unrooted between cities whilst touring.

Bonobo released his sixth album, Migration, in January 2017. In an interview with Billboard, Bonobo said that he conceived the album from "living and being in various locations", as he toured extensively and did not "have a home base for about a year". The album and the track Bambro Koyo Ganda have been nominated for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album. The album peaked higher in the UK chart (number 5) and in the US (number 59).

Bonobo - Migration Since his downtempo heyday in the early 2000s, Simon Green, AKA Bonobo, has grown from a trip-hop follower into a leader of smoky, twilit house music. His colourful and wide-ranging DJ sets have made him a festival favourite (catch him at sunset for the full effect). His productions, plush with horn and string arrangements and often accompanied by vocals, have earned him a regular place on the playlists of many electronic music fans. Migration is Green's sixth album.

Album · 2017 · 12 Songs. Contemplative, colorful electronica from the UK producer. On his sixth album, Simon Green explores the theme of migration through global sounds. His references are subtle, but not overly serious; he drifts from old-school Brandy samples ( Kerala ) to Moroccan Gnawa musicians ( Bambro Koyo Ganda ) with signature restraint ( Outlier ). There are a few high-profile guests along the way, including Nicole Miglis (Hundred Waters) and Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), but they’re not the main attraction-this LP is about the ride.

Simon Green aka Bonobo returns with his sixth album, the masterful, magisterial Migration - a record which cements his place in the very highest echelons of electronic music and beyond. By turns lush, manic, beautiful, melancholy, joyful, and packed with both emotion and technical skill, this is perhaps his most ambitious attempt yet to capture the very textures of human existence in his work, as Green says of the broad dynamics on the album, "Life has highs, lows, loud and quiet moments, beautiful ones and ugly ones. Music is a reflection of life.

Reviews about Bonobo - Migration (3):

Probably one the most boring album I've ever heard. Sure, it's well-produced but overall I found the composition to be utterly uninspired and dull. This is beard-stroking music at its worse, shame it had to come from one of my favorite artist.
Dellevar
Have to agree with you on this review. After his previous two great albums, this one is a big let down. I tried several listens and it just keeps coming back boring.

***** Magical album in all respects.*****It does indeed have a 'worldly' influence as the title suggests.
