Jimmy Smith - Midnight Special mp3 album

Organist Jimmy Smith, tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, and guitarist Kenny Burrell always make for a potent team, and with drummer Donald Bailey completing the group, the quartet digs soulfully into such numbers as the groovin' "Midnight Special," "Jumpin' the Blues," and "One O'Clock Jump.

Midnight Special is the second album by jazz/blues vocalist Al Smith featuring saxophonist King Curtis recorded in 1960 and released on the Bluesville label early the following year. Smith has a big, full, rich voice, and he uses it to maximum advantage throughout this excellent album.
