Efterklang - Tripper mp3 album

Tripper is the debut album by the Danish group Efterklang. The name of the album according to member Thomas Humser refers to two things. One meaning is that "tripper" is the slang term for a traveler. It is also a Danish meaning for shuffling one's feet in anticipation of something good to happen. The album cover was done by Marie Hill and is literally a mashing of doodle she drew.

Tripper was Efterklang's ambitious debut album, originally released in 2004. The album whispers like thunder, combining transcendent melodies with glacial strings and piano, febrile electronics, hushed male-female vocals and a Greenlandic choir. A year in the making, the album is intense and dramatic; intimate yet coolly detached. More info: ww. heleaflabel. released October 25, 2004.

Though Tripper was a full year in the making- and the members of Efterklang have obviously given their full attention to even the smallest detail- the album is not over-composed to the point of sterility.

Tripper is the soundtrack. Efterklang released Tripper to mild critical acclaim in 2004. The band’s first full length went largely unnoticed by the wider musical community, a complete travesty seeing as this is one of the most singular and engaging albums to come out of anywhere in a long time. Indeed, the most noticeable thing about this album is how quiet it is; you feel guilty listening to it anywhere other than a silent space where you alone can appreciate it. Whereas sophomore effort Parades is a cacophony of passion and joy, Tripper exists to sooth and calm; it is the sound of frail humans co-existing with wild and unbridled nature.

Efterklang take that hush and decorate it with male and female vocals, whispered so as to not awake the sleeping glaciers. Barely perceivable electronic cells sit near absolute zero, as if left frozen on the ice banks of Mars. You can even hear the melodic sound of you breath's water molecules crystallizing to ice inside your nose.

Tripper" is the debut full-length studio album by Danish music artist Efterklang. The album was released through The Leaf Label in October 2004. Efterklang were formed in late 2000 in Copenhagen and released the "Springer" EP in 2003. The EP was originally independently released, but saw a label re-release through The Leaf Label in 2005. Tripper" also features a warm, organic, and pleasant sounding production, which suits the material well, so upon conclusion its a pretty strong debut album by Efterklang.
