The House of Love is the eponymous debut album by the British alternative rock band The House of Love. Released in June 1988 by Creation Records, the album was a critical success. It appeared in many 1988 critics' lists, in NME, Melody Maker, and Sounds. The album was recorded following the departure member of founder member Andrea Heukamp, who had played on the band's early singles.
Mike Douglas has the most beautiful voice and his rendition of the title song and What is America to Me, are the standout tracks. The album tugs at the heartstrings. I am so glad I found it again. Always a pleasant listen when Mike Douglas sings ballads.
